People’s Day | Session 2

The second session of People’s Day, held at the Somalia Pavilion during #COP16, focused on the significant role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in addressing environmental challenges and mitigating the impacts of climate change. This session aimed to enhance collaboration between CSOs and key stakeholders to foster joint efforts in tackling climate change more effectively.

Key attendees included directors from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, representatives from Civil Society Organizations, and other environmental stakeholders. The discussions emphasized the importance of cooperation and explored strategies to create sustainable solutions for pressing environmental challenges in Somalia.

The session provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, fostering stronger partnerships and highlighting the collective responsibility to address the effects of climate change. It underscored the essential role of collaboration in achieving impactful, long-term solutions to the environmental issues that directly affect Somali communities.
