Somalia and UNICEF Join Forces in Forum on Water and Modern Technology Solutions for Africa

Addis Ababa, 9 September 2025 – On the second day of the Africa Climate Summit (ACS2), the Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Abdirisaq Ahmed Ali, participated in an important forum organized by UNICEF. The session focused on water and the role of modern technologies as potential solutions to Africa’s pressing needs.

Water: The Lifeline of All Existence

In his opening remarks, the Director General emphasized that water is the lifeline of all forms of life, stressing the urgent need for efficient management and sustainable planning to safeguard this vital resource.

He further highlighted that climate change poses a significant threat to water availability and quality, making it essential to adopt innovative and modern solutions to address the growing challenges.

Technology and Innovation

Abdirisaq Ahmed Ali underscored that new technologies and modern innovations are key to protecting water resources for the future, while also creating sustainable solutions that will help African communities adapt to the impacts of climate change.
