The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is pleased to present the November 2025 edition of its official newsletter, highlighting Somalia’s continued leadership and engagement in advancing national, regional, and global climate action. This edition reflects a month of significant progress, strategic diplomacy, and strengthened partnerships aimed at building resilience and promoting sustainable development.
November marked a milestone for Somalia with its active participation at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil. During the conference, Somalia officially launched key national climate frameworks, including the Long-Term Low-Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS), the National Adaptation Plan (2026–2030), and the NDC 3.0 Investment Plan, reaffirming the country’s commitment to a resilient, low-carbon future rooted in equity and inclusion.
At the national level, the Ministry continued to advance inter-ministerial coordination, community engagement, and collaboration with civil society and international partners. Initiatives in climate finance, nutrition, biodiversity, sustainable cooling, ecosystem restoration, gender equality, youth engagement, and climate-peace integration demonstrate Somalia’s holistic approach to addressing climate risks while supporting livelihoods and long-term stability.
These collective efforts underscore Somalia’s determination to translate climate ambition into tangible action and lasting impact.
