Somali Minister of Environment and Climate Change Visits Somali Embassy in Germany

Berlin, Germany — The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Major General Bashir Mohamed Jama, who is currently on an official working visit to Berlin to attend the Climate and Security Conference 2025, has paid an official visit to the Somali Embassy in Germany.

The Minister and his delegation were warmly received by Ambassador Abdisaziz M. Mohamed, Somalia’s Ambassador to Germany, who briefed the Minister on the embassy’s priority tasks and its ongoing efforts to serve the Somali community living in Germany.

During the meeting, Minister Bashir Mohamed Jama expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador and the staff of the Somali Embassy in Germany for their dedicated work in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Somalia and Germany, particularly in the fields of climate, environment, and security.

The Minister emphasized that the partnership between the two countries is vital and will play an important role in supporting Somalia’s efforts to combat climate change, as well as in promoting environmental protection and community stability programs.

This visit is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance international cooperation on climate and environmental issues, aiming to secure stronger support and shared understanding in addressing the challenges posed by climate change across the Horn of Africa.
