Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, Visits Environmental Protection Forces Headquarters in Mogadishu

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, today conducted an official inspection visit to the headquarters of the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu.
The Minister was accompanied by the Ministers of Environment and Climate Change from the federal member states, and they were welcomed at the headquarters by the Commander of the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Arabow Ali, Deputy Commander of the Environmental Protection Forces Mahamud Carale, and the Commander of Operations and Reformation of the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu, Senior Lieutenant Sharmarke Addow Tuuryare. The officials reviewed the operational activities at the headquarters of the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu and discussed ways to collaborate in environmental protection.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Makhzoumi expressed her gratitude to the Environmental Protection Forces of Mogadishu for their role in safeguarding the environment, especially in implementing the Ministry’s recent ban on single-use plastic bags in Somalia. She also pledged that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change would continue to provide close support to the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu.
The Commander of the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Arabow Ali, spoke to the media after the meeting, welcoming the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Somalia and the environmental ministers from the member states to the headquarters. He pledged that the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu would work closely with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Somalia to protect the environment.
Minister Al-Makhzoumi also addressed the media, thanking the Environmental Protection Forces in Mogadishu for their dedication to fulfilling their responsibilities. She stated that today’s meeting was valuable and that the decisions reached would be implemented on their end. She assured that the Ministry stands firmly with the Environmental Protection Forces of Mogadishu.
