The Science, Technology, and Innovation Forum | Session 2

The second session of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Day at #COP16Riyadh was inaugurated by Dr. Saciid Mohamed Cali, Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change. Hosted at the Somalia Pavilion, the session explored the role of science and technology in environmental restoration, with a particular focus on combating land degradation and promoting sustainable practices.

Dr. Saciid emphasized the critical importance of tree planting and natural regeneration as practical steps to revitalize degraded ecosystems. He also highlighted the role of advanced scientific research in finding sustainable solutions to pressing environmental challenges.

Discussions during the session underscored the need for innovative approaches to restore ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and build resilience against climate-related issues. Attendees were encouraged to leverage cutting-edge technologies and community-driven efforts to address the growing impact of environmental degradation.

The session served as a call to action, urging stakeholders to prioritize sustainable environmental management and collective action for long-term ecological stability.
