Handover Ceremony at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, General Bashir Mohamed Jama, officially handed over responsibilities today between the former Deputy Minister of Environment, Dr. Said Mohamed, and the newly appointed Deputy Minister, Mr. Hussein Ali Haji. The handover ceremony, which took place at the Ministry’s headquarters, was attended by various government officials, ministry staff, and other invited guests.

In his speech during the event, Minister Bashir Mohamed Jama expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Said Mohamed, praising his active role and contributions towards the development of the Ministry during his time in office. He also warmly welcomed the new Deputy Minister, Mr. Hussein Ali Haji, encouraging him to enhance efforts in improving the Ministry’s services, particularly in areas related to environmental protection, addressing climate change, and waste management — key pillars in environmental policy development and public awareness.
