Environment Day | Session 1

The inaugural management session at the Somalia Pavilion during #COP16Riyadh focused on “Enhancing Environmental Protection: The Role of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) in Sustainable Development in Somalia.” Organized by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the session emphasized the critical role of ESIA in shaping Somalia’s environmental policies. It highlighted key challenges in its implementation and discussed strategies to align these efforts with international standards.
