Director General Launches Ozone Layer Protection Training to Strengthen Environmental Awareness and Capacity

The Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdirisak Ahmed Ali, officially opened a training workshop on the protection of the Ozone Layer, aimed at raising awareness and strengthening participants’ skills related to environmental protection.

The training was facilitated by Abdirahim Barre, Head of the Ozone Affairs Unit, who provided a comprehensive explanation of the importance of the Ozone Layer and its vital role in protecting the Earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV-B) radiation, which can negatively affect human health, the environment, and other living organisms.

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change once again reaffirmed its strong commitment to implementing international obligations related to ozone protection, while prioritizing awareness-raising and capacity building for relevant institutions and professional
