The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the DanQaran Government, Major General Bashir Mohamed Jama, accompanied by the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mukhtar Robow Ali (Abu Mansur), jointly participated today in a tree-planting campaign held at the Ministry’s headquarters.
This campaign, which is part of the Somali National Tree Planting Week, aims to build a greener Somalia, starting with government institutions—especially ministries and agencies—which are being prepared to serve as model centers for environmental protection and the improvement of the country’s overall appearance.
The officials planted various types of trees that will enhance the greening of government facilities, contribute to reducing the effects of climate change, support environmental restoration, and help protect natural resources.
The Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Mukhtar Robow Ali (Abu Mansur), emphasized that the Ministry will play an important role in raising public awareness, particularly through mosques and religious platforms, to strengthen understanding of environmental protection and the importance of tree planting, which is also considered a religious responsibility.
Finally, the campaign was attended by officials at various levels, including Directors General, Department Directors, and Ministry staff, all of whom played a significant role in implementing this important initiative.
