Somalia’s Federal Government Delegation Holds Key Coordination Meeting at COP30 in Brazil

The Federal Government of Somalia’s delegation participating in the Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, held its daily coordination meeting today.
The session focused on reviewing the activities completed by the delegation so far, discussing Somalia’s key priorities at the conference, and outlining the operational plan for the coming days.
Officials emphasized that the daily coordination meeting plays a critical role in strengthening teamwork, ensuring that Somalia’s national message is delivered cohesively, and enhancing the delegation’s effective participation in discussions, side events, and negotiations taking place at COP30.
In attendance were the Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the leadership of the COP30 task team, ministers representing federal member states, and technical experts from various government institutions.
The Somali delegation continues to advocate for climate justice, increased climate financing, and strengthened global support for countries most vulnerable to climate impacts.
