Somalia Joins Global Green Growth Institute to Advance Sustainable Development

The Federal Government of Somalia has officially become a full member of the **Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) marking a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection. This partnership will play a pivotal role in advancing Somalia’s green economic development plans, promoting environmental conservation, and enhancing resilience to climate change impacts.

Representing Somalia during the signing of the agreement, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, highlighted the importance of this collaboration. She emphasized that joining GGGI aligns with Somalia’s strategic vision for achieving a sustainable, green future while addressing critical challenges such as climate adaptation and ecosystem preservation.

This membership will provide Somalia with access to global expertise, technical assistance, and resources, enabling the implementation of innovative green initiatives. It is a step forward in strengthening Somalia’s commitment to global environmental goals and securing a more sustainable future for its people.
