Description
The capacities of the Somali authorities responsible for environment and natural resource management, both at federal and state levels, will be enhanced to address the ecological challenges and priorities toward improved environmental governance in the country. In doing so, the Directorate of Environment and the Federal Member States will be capacitated towards strengthened environmental management, effective monitoring, assessment and raise awareness of the population including women, youth, and children through environmental education and advocacy
Outputs / Activities
2.1 – National Environmental Quality Standard for Somalia developed and finalized.
2.3- Environmental monitoring, compliance and enforcement enhanced.
3.1 – Finalize the environmental study/research grant (Somali National University – SNU).
2.3.3 – Conduct environmental awareness program to Operationalize National Solid Waste Management Policy with targeted advocacy to support the decision of the Government on banning plastics in Somalia
