Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Somalia

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) was established in August 2022, with the goal of protecting, conserving, and restoring Somalia’s environment.

The predecessor to the Ministry was the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, which operated under the Office of the Prime Minister. The Ministry plays a key role in shaping and implementing environmental policies that promote sustainable development, ensuring a healthier and more resilient environment for the Somali people.

MOECC is committed to leading efforts in environmental protection through good governance, strategic partnerships, and sustainable practices that will benefit both present and future generations
