*New York:* The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, delivered an important speech at the Africa Investment Conference, where she discussed the role of Somalia’s National Plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
She highlighted that Somalia requires a total investment of $16.9 billion to meet its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets by 2030. The Minister also emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the government and private businesses (PPP) to facilitate investments in green energy and climate-smart agriculture, which will help mitigate the economic impacts resulting from climate change
